Where We Work in Costa Rica

Based in La Fortuna and shooting nationwide. These are the areas we work in most.

How nationwide coverage actually works

We are based in La Fortuna, at the foot of Arenal, and that is where the shortest turnarounds and the lowest travel cost are. Everywhere else in the country is reachable, and we shoot regularly across Guanacaste, the Central Valley, the Central Pacific and the Nicoya Peninsula.

Travel outside the Arenal region appears as its own line on your quote rather than being folded invisibly into the price, so you can see exactly what the distance is costing. For the more remote destinations — Santa Teresa and the southern peninsula in particular — it is usually worth capturing more scenes in a single visit, because the marginal cost of extra scenes on the day is far lower than the cost of a second trip.

Each region also has its own technical character. Guanacaste and the Pacific beaches mean very strong, high-contrast light and shaded interiors opening onto glare. Monteverde means mist, humidity and low light under canopy. The Central Valley means deep floor plates with bright windows. All three are the same underlying problem — extreme dynamic range in one frame — and all three are handled the same way: bracketed exposures, hand-stitched, rather than a consumer camera auto-stitching in-camera.

If your property is somewhere not listed here, it is still worth asking. The areas above are simply where we work most often, not the limit of where we go.
