Casa del Rio
A boutique hotel in Guanacaste captured room by room, so the character of the property carries before arrival.
What this property needed
Casa del Rio is a boutique hotel in Guanacaste, and boutique properties have a specific marketing problem: they do not compete on room count or on price position, they compete on character. Character is exactly what a standard photo set flattens. A wide-angle shot of a well-styled room looks much like any other well-styled room; what it cannot convey is proportion, light, and how one space opens into the next.
How we captured it
We photographed the rooms and common areas and built them into a tour with guided navigation, so the property is experienced in the order it is actually walked rather than in whatever order a gallery happens to load. Capture is 12K HDR and hand-stitched, which matters more in Guanacaste than most places — the light is strong, and auto-stitched cameras tend to blow out a window or crush an interior. Information hotspots run throughout the property.
What we delivered
- 360° photography of rooms and common areas
- Interactive tour with guided navigation
- Information hotspots throughout the property
- Tour embedded on the hotel website
The problem this solves
Boutique properties compete on character rather than on a room count. A tour communicates that character in a way a photo gallery cannot.
How the tour gets used
The tour lives on the hotel website. For a boutique property the value is less about volume of views and more about the kind of guest it attracts: someone who has walked the property online arrives already understanding what the place is, which tends to make for a better-matched booking.
Common questions
Rooms and common areas across the property, assembled into an interactive tour with guided navigation and information hotspots throughout.
Larger hotels sell on standardisation — a guest broadly knows what they are getting. A boutique property sells on character, which is difficult to communicate in stills and straightforward to communicate in a walkthrough.
Yes. The tours are browser-based and work on phones, tablets and desktops with no app required.
